Hobo Floral Design (Est. 1985) is a bustling, friendly florist in a pretty courtyard setting, based in a thriving Shropshire market town.
We are a smiley, helpful, experienced team of ladies with professional qualifications in floristry, providing you with top quality Dutch flowers and an ever changing display of indoor and outdoor plants.
Hobo the florist regularly feature in news paper articles on various topics from Traffic wardens, to Oswestry in Bloom competitions, charities, in store shop promotions, The Oswestry Food Festival, beating the recession in Oswestry, Oswestry Home Front and as many other things we can be involved in, when promoting our town.
In 2009 Tracey was been interviewed on Radio Shropshire in January, trying to put a more positive side to Oswestry Town in the recession, instead of all the down side news that the media continuously kept throwing at us all.
We also featured in The Shropshire Star newspaper, complete with write up and coloured photo.
Before the interview, I went round as many businesses in Oswestry as possible to get the input from them, in case I was barking up the wrong tree, however, with the exception of 3 businesses, every one agreed they were fed up of all the depressing news, and agreed that Oswestry has a lot to offer, with individual shops, friendly people and a genuine want to keep the town alive.
The interview was a success, and in February, I was interviewed again on Radio Shropshire putting the florist’s point of view across with regards to Valentines Day. We again also appeared in The Shropshire star newspaper, with a coloured photo of Becky and a beautiful array of our flowers.
At the beginning of March, Oswestry featured on BBC 2’s working Lunch, and the TV team came to interview Tracey at Hobo. Again this was to see how Oswestry was reacting to the recession, and I believe the presenter was very surprised at the positive reaction he received from the people of the town ( with the exception of a few men!).
They filmed our shop, and I had my 20 seconds of fame on TV!

I am very excited to say we are on Twitter, and I enjoy making new friends and promoting business for Hobo and other businesses is involved with Hobo.
It is amazing how this internet social network has taken off.
Hobo the florist is very passionate about wild life and what is going on around the world, particularly the demising BUMBLE BEES.We follow www.savethebees.co.uk on Twitter, which keeps us up to date on what is going on, and how to help.
We try and buy Bee friendly plants, at the moment Pyracantha, Skimmia and Viburnham plants are very popular, and I have laminated beautiful Bee photos from the internet, put them on the plants we have for sale in our courtyard, all to make people aware of the Bumble Bees plight.
We only use brown paper carrier bags in our shop, WE DO NOT USE PLASTIC CARRIER BAGS.
Again, I feel this is such an important issue in keeping our planet alive.
We are very proud to say the internationally reknown FRON MALE VOICE CHOIR www.fronchoir.com use HOBO when they want to present flowers at their concerts.
In 2009 they sang in Poland - including Warsaw and Kracow, and have joined voices with Rolf Harris,Vera Lynn and recently at the wonderfully, emotional British Legion's Festival Of Rememberance 2009 with Hayley Westernra.
