About Us

Hobo Floral Design (Est. 1985) is a bustling, friendly florist in a pretty courtyard setting, based in a thriving Shropshire market town.

Tracey joined Hobo florist in December 1993 and became a Partner with Anne Harding.

On 1st August, 1999, Tracey bought Hobo florist completely, when Anne chose a different career path.

I believe my shop was named "HOBO" after an american television programme about a  dog callled "The Littlest  Hobo".

I was also told that HOBO is short for "Homeward Bound" !

"Riding the Rails" in"The Great Depression" in America, both men and women would get on any train and go anywhere  - illegally - in search of work.

When challanged by the Train Guards to where they were going, the answer was always "Homeward Bound", - as in anywhere there was a job!

We are a smiley, helpful, experienced team of ladies with professional qualifications in floristry,

providing you with top quality Dutch flowers and an ever changing display of indoor and outdoor plants.

Hobo the florist regularly feature in news paper articles on various topics from Traffic wardens, to Oswestry in Bloom competitions,

various Charities,The Oswestry Food Festival, and as many other things we can be involved in, when promoting our town.

Hobo joins in every year with Oswestry in Bloom competitions, and are proud to regularly win Gold and Silver Awards for our shop window and courtyard plant displays!

On August 25th 2016,

Hobo florist was very proud to recieve an award of  a silver cup and framed certificate

by Oswestry Border and Chronicle paper  "We Mean Business" Community Award

in "recognition of the business to the community"

In October 2015, Tracey Austin was awarded the honour of becomng the first Oswestry Chamber of Commerce Ambassador for the town.

This award was given"

in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the aims and objectives of Oswestry Chamber of Commerce

in promoting the town of Oswestry."

Hobo florist has a large  world wide following on Facebook and regularly recieve orders from customers abroad, who have family in the Oswestry area.
